“I made a webshop where I sold skin care, sleeping masks, and a lot of different products that I loved and had sourced from around the world as well as my jewelry,” explains Ophelia. Besides a side hustle, this was her way to relax and have fun.

Dating back to 2017, when Crystal Haze was founded, there was no grand business plan or strategy—everything happened organically. It took Ophelia’s skills and talent, combined with the right amount of dedication, to eventually succeed.

She is a real artist who finds solace and joy in what she does. Ophelia is pretty straightforward about it as she claims “I am a workaholic and love my job!”

Challenges Along the Way

Any bold dreamer expects challenges along the way. That’s the normal way things unfold.

Not surprisingly, Ophelia’s journey was not without its hurdles, too.

“My hardest moment was letting go of my safety in having a stable income,” she confesses. Abandoning the security of a steady job, she bet on Crystal Haze’s potential.

Reflecting on challenging times, Ophelia emphasizes the importance of inner motivation when you pursue your goals.

“Another part that was extremely tough was the years when no one really believed in the products. It is hard not to give up and keep moving forward when you have no good news, positive feedback, or external motivation coming to you. It requires your drive and inner motivation to really push forward, and it can be incredibly tough sometimes,” she shares.

Challenges like these test the entrepreneurial spirit in a way that not everyone can pass. It shows off your confidence and how much of yourself you are willing to devote to your idea. In addition to shaping and polishing professionalism, dealing with difficulties also brings satisfaction, making an individual stronger.

Exciting Present and Bright Future for Crystal Haze

After overcoming significant hurdles, Ophelia’s venue is poised for a new beginning.

She takes pride in earning her coveted spot on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2023. That was truly a crowning moment for her as a woman in business. “It was a dream of mine that I had manifested for years,” she says.

When it comes to Crystal Haze, the brand stands out with its affordability and unique style, evoking nostalgia for the 90s. Ophelia is pleased that her craft is being appreciated on a multinational level.

“In March 2020, Vogue France wrote an article about my crystals. It was totally mind-blowing and made Crystal Haze better known on the international market. I started having sales coming from continental Europe, and this was maybe the first big step internationally,” recalls Ophelia.

Then, her brand was discovered on Instagram by a sales team from London who wanted to represent Crystal Haze worldwide.

Walking into different stores and witnessing Crystal Haze on display serves as tangible proof of her brand’s global impact, cementing her status as a trailblazer in the industry.

Vanity Fair featured a photo of US comedian Atsuko Okatsuka posing with a Crystal Haze jewel in its November 2023 issue. Furthermore, at the beginning of 2024, world-famous singer Justin Bieber also chose to wear a jewel by Ophelia’s brand, showcasing his pick on Instagram.

As Ophelia looks to the future, she unveils exciting plans, painting a picture of innovation and expansion.

“The near future plans of Crystal Haze involve a strategy around small capsule collections. We are also launching a magazine for our customers, as well as an exciting collection in collaboration with the artwork of Jean Michel Basquiat,” she reveals.

What is more, a new brand, the “sister” of Crystal Haze, is going to make its debut, bringing a new dimension to the brand.
